Elon Musk responds to Tesla Cybertruck crash into Beverly Hills Hotel sign

The incident happened just before midnight on Mar. 3. The famous hotel is at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and North Beverly Drive.

The nearly 7,000-pound stainless steel vehicle hopped the curb and came to a stop with its two front wheels on top of a concrete landscaping wall. The truck sustained significant damage to its front left wheel, as well as damaging the poles that hold the sign.

On X, formerly Twitter, Elon Musk, who owns the social media platform, responded to the crash.  “Cyberbeast is faster than a Porsche 911, but looks like a truck, so perhaps the valet wasn’t expecting so much acceleration,” he said.

Initial reports about the crash claimed the Tesla was being driven by a hotel valet, but that later turned out to be untrue.

More like, clown behind the wheel wanted to impress all the ladies. They were undeniably impressed.

Even though there was no evidence a valet was driving, and the suggestions that it was a valet were immediately dispelled.

The Cybertruck does 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds and weighs 7,000 pounds. It is a menace on the road, particularly considering the type of idiot who is likely to buy such a thing.

Oh, and Musk is also wrong about a Porsche 911. It can do 0 to 60 in 2.2 seconds, so it is faster than a Cybertruck. But it weighs only a little over 3,000 pounds.

And the supposedly "apocalypse proof" Cybertruck lost its front left wheel when it jumped the curb. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/local-news/tesla-cybertruck-beverly-hills-hotel-accident-1235842356/

I remember seeing a Tesla Model 3 in car side-swipe accident in my neighborhood and it's driver side front wheel was laying on the ground next to it. Looks like losing wheels in an accident is a thing with Teslas. https://insideevs.com/news/711068/valet-driver-crash-tesla-cybertruck/amp/

Did the police do a breathalyzer on the owner?

Maybe on Autopilot and crashed.

There was a report of a two vehicle accident right before the Cybertruck jumped the curb.
