California COVID test lab issues?

Apparently there is a backlog at one of the labs according to the county; it's going on day 5 with the grandkids and we still haven't heard anything back.
This can be dangerous if what they have is COVID instead of a bad sinus cold. We are already 5 days behind if so, and Grandy has a compromised immune system.

2. I had no problem. Made the appointment on Friday, had the nasal swab on Saturday, and got the

results yesterday

3. We went to a drive-through no appointment place.

We use the drive through to reduce exposure to us or others. Used this location several times before, typically got results emailed back in 24-48 hours. This time, still waiting.
This is a San Diego County site that has been set up in a parking lot, not a pharmacy drive through window.

4. It was a drive through for me too in Northern California, Stanford at Redwood City. They are open

7 days a week.

Here in Northern California they have multiple drive throughs sponsored by CVS, Walgreens, public health sites, and other medical facilities

Not sure where the shortages they are experiencing here

I am fully vaccinated, and taking all kinds of precautions, but had the test because I will be seeing my grandson next weekend

5. That lab is also charging 5 times as much per test
