Investigation prompts arrest of Ark. officer who said he was shot during traffic stop

ENGLAND, Ark. (KTHV) – An officer who said he was shot during a traffic stop last month is now in custody, and is charged with filing a false police report.

This stems from an incident that happened in late October when Sgt. David Houser said he made a traffic stop on Highway 15. At that time, police said they were looking for the person responsible.

A press release from Arkansas State Police reads, "Houser told local and state law enforcement officers that while on patrol that he had exchanged gunfire with a suspect who fled from him driving a sport utility vehicle south of England along State Highway 15. Houser also reported he had been shot by the suspect."
