AR-HD19: Democrat Billy Cook outpaces Republican Steve Unger in grassroots campaign contributions
Billy Cook, Democratic candidate for Arkansas House District 19, raised more money last month than the Republican incumbent through grassroots funding, according to Cook’s campaign instagram.
Cook’s campaign accepts only grassroots funding and has been outpacing his opponent on that front almost every month for the past year.
According to Arkansas Secretary of State financial disclosures, a little over 97% of Cook’s funding comes from individual contributions, compared to Unger’s 65%.
“You can see in the Secretary of State filings that the contributors to his campaign are usually a small number of (Political Action Committees) and hardly any individuals,” Cook said. “Whereas my (small individual contributions) are pretty wild quite honestly, over 27,000.”
