Millage increase for city library on November ballot
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Come the November election, Jonesboro voters will decide whether to increase the millage by 1 mill for the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.
The petition requested an “increase of 1 mill to the current 1.0 mill city tax on real and personal property supporting maintenance and operation of Craighead County Public Library.”
On Monday, Sept. 9, the petition was signed and verified by Jonesboro City Clerk April Leggett.
A total of 146 registered voters were enough to allow the petition to be on the city’s November 2024 ballot.
