The Arkansas Supreme Court has issued a strange Covid order.

Not in response to any lawsuit, the Arkansas Supreme Court has issued a per curiam order that determines that a group of court personnel are "essential" and orders they are to receive Covid vaccinations immediately.

I appreciate the Supreme Court's concern about clerks, prosecutors, etc. whose job requires contact with the public. Nevertheless, it is incredible that the Court, again not in response to any pending lawsuit, purports to supersede the Governor's and CDC determinations concerning priority for vaccinations.

It is unclear what will happen when a healthy, thirty-something deputy court clerk shows up at the local pharmacy with a copy of the order in hand, and demands a vaccine instead of the sick, elderly patient with an appointment for the vaccination.
