Arkansas Republican: Praises Obamacare, going to save him $13,000

It reports on Butch Matthews, 61, described as a small businessman and Republican from Little Rock.

He was skeptical about Obamacare, he says. He says he didn't think it would help him.

But after doing a little research, Matthews eventually realized how much the law could help him. And on Tuesday, his local Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) provider confirmed that he would be able to buy a far better plan than his current policy while saving at least $13,000 per year through Arkansas’ Obamacare marketplace

.When he was self-employed, he had to get his own coverage. It got more and more expensive ($1,069 a month), with a whopping $10,000 deductible that didn't begin to cover his drug and other needs given treatment for a heart ailment.

I whack away at Republicans a lot and they deserve worse, as a rule. But I have to admit a certain fondness for the pizza parlor guy who gave President Obama such a big bear hug during the last campaign season. Every time I see someone like Matthews, I remove one more pin from the GOP doll. But don't worry, I'll never get to all of them in a million years. There are just too many.
