Gov. Asa Hutchinson Issues Statewide Mask Order

Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Thursday issued a statewide mask order. It goes into effect on Monday.

The governor is holding is daily briefing now, which you can watch here.

Hutchinson said he'll sign an executive order outlining the mandate. Violating the order would be a misdemeanor and carry a $100 fine.

The order says Arkansans should wear face coverings on the mouth and nose in all indoor and outdoor places where they are exposed to non-household members and distancing of 6 feet or more cannot be assured.

Agree. If this had been done earlier, nationwide, we'd be in a lot better place than we are now. Arkansas Granny Jul 2020 #4

Need to take the initiative to provide, for FREE, masks to anyone who needs one.

The private sector and fed/state gov failed us. We should have had mandatory masks back in March.

It's so frustrating to know this could have been dealt with months ago.
