We're #1 in the world!

This chart ranks the countries with the most confirmed new cases over the past week, adjusted for population size, and treats each U.S. state as if it were a country. (Many states are larger in both landmass and population than some countries.)

And not only are we #1, it's by a substantial margin. Way to go, Arizona!

If our wonderful mayor of Phoenix weren't so busy going on cable news shows, she might negotiate with all the mega churches here in Phoenix that continue to sponsor super spreader events every week. Dream City Church, the mega church that sponsored Trump's indoor rally a couple weeks ago boasts on its website that with its 5 locations around the Valley, it's able to seat 30,000 people every week. Furthermore, they proudly point out that the didn't close their doors until 4/1, and promptly re opened on 5/1. Some record to be proud of. And as always, masks are optional.

when they notice that their own congregants are dying off, and so no longer putting money into their coffers.

I chair the meetings of my AA home group in Tucson. (I've been clean and sober for over thirty-nine years, now.) We just returned to in-person meetings last month. Last week, only about five people besides myself were masked. If this continues, I fear we may have to close our doors, again.
