OP
It's been two weeks since the cases started spiking bad - now it's time for the deaths

On the positive side, the cases are running lower this week than last. Although today is the two week anniversary of the Trump rally.

(53,061 posts)6. Its a terrible trend but today's number has to include a large number of reclassifications
which would be expected after a holiday weekend
graph at the link shows
July 2nd 21
July 3rd 13
July 4th 15
July 5th 1
July 6th 3
July 7th 117
The NATIONAL total for July 6th was 244.
So it must be that today includes some administrative process that reviewed previous deaths and reclassified them as Covid 19. This often happens with pneumonia deaths where they give the original cause of death as pneumonia and then reclassify it at Covid 19 after the post mortem tests shows positive for Covid 19.
