Arizona
Related: About this forumHas everyone voted? I just got home, filled out my mail-in ballot, and off to the PO tomorrow.
I wonder which way AZ will go? I think we are a little more red than NV so it will be interesting to see where AZ will go this year.

(3,734 posts)I suggest checking on your voter registration status. My voter registration status is permanently set to participate in mail in ballot. But I am very jaded and skeptical so I check it EVERY year and every voting event. Here's the website to check:

(55,737 posts)I am sure it must be in the mail box, I don't go to the Post Office very often unless I am expecting something. I will hit it Monday morning.

(1,369 posts)There was an info sheet with it detailing the last day the ballot can be put in the mail to be reliably received by election day (Wednesday, March 11 for Tucson, this may be different in other communities), and saying that we can always drop the ballot off at our polling location on election day. It also warned that if the candidate we vote for were to drop out by election day, our vote will not count and we cannot vote again. It made me wish we had ranked-choice voting like Maine and some other states, and, in this volatile season, makes me consider dropping the ballot off on election day so as not to risk having my vote not count if my candidate of choice were to drop out between mailing day and election day. I suppose the same could happen with any election, but the likelihood of a candidate dropping out in the 6 days before a general election is considerably less than the likelihood of a national candidate dropping out in the week before a state primary.
I know several local republicans who are completely disgusted with the Drumpf administration, and don't know any who like it (though that is, I'm sure, self-selection on my part), and I suspect we will be seeing an unprecedented blue wave.

(1,369 posts)I certainly don't want to be accused of encouraging people not to vote early on the off chance that something will come up and they won't be able to vote later. There is certainly comfort in knowing you've voted.
