Michael Wolff book: Trump celebrated John McCain's brain cancer, mocked Meghan McCain
President Donald Trump celebrated Sen. John McCain's brain cancer diagnosis, using it as an exhibit of what could happen to those who cross him, writes author Michael Wolff in his new book chronicling Trump and his administration.
As McCain, R-Ariz., was undergoing cancer treatment, Trump reveled in his grim plight, Wolff writes in "Siege: Trump Under Fire."
"Trump took John McCain's brain tumor, diagnosed in the summer of 2017, as something like personal validation," Wolff wrote. "'You see?' he would say, raising his eyebrows. 'You see what can happen?' Then he would mime an exploding head."
"Siege: Trump Under Fire" released this week, presents a portrait of a president "who is increasingly volatile, erratic, and exposed" as he grapples with investigations into his 2016 campaign, his business affairs and his presidency.
