Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema breaks 13 hours, sets personal record at Ironman New Zealand

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema set a personal record for an Ironman race on Saturday, breaking 13 hours at Ironman New Zealand.

Sinema, 42, finished in 12 hours, 59 minutes, 57 seconds, much faster than her times at 2013 Ironman Arizona (15:12.33) and 2015 Ironman World Championships (15:02.47).

Sinema completed the 2.4-mile swim in 1:28.14, 112-mile bike in 6:50.42 and 26.2-mile run in 4:27.08. She was 27th in her age division (out of 56), 147th among women (out of 336) and 730th overall (out of 1,331).

Practically every Senate/House function ceases at noon on Thursdays so Members can fly home to be with their families, and visit Constituents. Yes, even Senators get days off...

I can only dream of doing an Ironman. Need to stick to sprint tri's for now.

I'll be vacationing in Arizona in two weeks. Maybe we'll pass by each other running?
