Damn, this was disappointing news, especially in a race yet to be decided. According to the Arizona Republic, at least 500,000 mail in ballots are yet to be counted.
I mentioned before the election that I was concerned about youth enthusiasm. I was mistaken. My grandson and several of his friends either voted at the polls or dropped off ballots, straight Democratic tickets. Our young voters over performed as was covered by MSNBC.

Sinema was blowing her out a couple months ago.

(1,258 posts)Their policies are not republican, but they affect elections such as this one by helping republican candidates. Tea party candidates never ran separate from republicans, because they knew and republicans knew how it would help democrats. If greens want to be taken seriously, they should keep from blocking liberal candidates.
Seriously - Sinema was not liberal enough, so the republican was a better alternative?
I bet anyone going back and looking at all the liberal tickets they have split in the last 3 decades that they would find greens on non primary ballots have put more conservatives in office than liberals.
I am not for blocking anyone's freedom to run, etc., except that our system allows conservatives to benefit from voting splits so that when the conservatives get into office they can put into place policies with minority popularity.
As far as I am concerned, greens belong on democratic primary ballots - that's what changes party platforms - the tea party ran in primaries, and moved the republicans further right. The greens don't do that - in effect, they help get republicans elected. The system allows for it, but it also allows for the primary process to prevent this effect.

(29,346 posts)She voted to scale back Dodd Frank and votes with Trump 60% of the time. I don't think that helped as far as the Green Party is concerned.

(29,346 posts)Happier with Greg Stanton who won by 20%
They were calling her a far left liberal and she still won so I'm not so sure about that. I know a lot of Democrats are ghosts when it comes to issues like SB 1070 and still lose elections badly.

She's down by about 16k votes, so maybe she can make it up with the mail in ballots.
