DHS agents pepper-spray Rep. Grijalva, Sentinel reporter during protest sparked by Tucson raid

An investigation into a Tucson restaurant chain turned chaotic on Wednesday morning as agents with the Department of Homeland Security used tear gas, pepper balls and smoke grenades against protestors.
Among those hit by pepper spray were this Tucson Sentinel reporter and U.S. Rep. Adelita Grijalva.
A little more than a dozen agents with Homeland Security Investigationsa part of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcementand U.S. Customs and Border Protection raided Taco Giro on the 600 block of North Grande Avenue on Wednesday morning, part of a larger investigation that involved at least 16 search warrants across Southern Arizona, according to an ICE spokesman. A law enforcement source told the Tucson Sentinel that the raid was part of a long-standing human trafficking probe dating to the Biden administration.
Many of the agents taking part in the raid wore masks covering their faces and were decked out in tactical gear.
