Maricopa County judicial retention guide

One of the more confusing things on any ballot can be the retention of judges in Arizona. I have put together a guide using MY methodology for voting. You can use it or not, it's entirely up to you.

I have utilized the 2024 Gavel Watch Report Card for Arizona emailed to me by the LD10 Democratic party as the baseline. In it (attached) they have extensive research methodology in making their selections. I take it one step further. My methodology takes into account that former governor Ducey stacked the courts with Federalist Society sychophants that is re-shaping the courts to their ideology. We've all seen how this has affected the Supreme Court. They continue to damage state courts as well.

My "system" basically REJECTS all of Duceys' and Brewers appointments and retains those appointed by Democratic Governor Janet Napolitano. If Ducey can "stack the court", so can we by rejecting his appointments. Is this method flawed? Of course it is. However, we're in the fight of our lives and this is a front line battle. Getting rid of these judges will enable the current Democratic Governor, Katie Hobbs, to put OUR selections in the courts.

First of all, Prop 137 is a LOUD NO!!. This proposition was put into place by Republicans to protect the right wing judges RETROACTIVELY. If this passes, ALL JUDICIAL VOTES on Nov 5th will be VOIDED and every judge will remain, no matter what the voters wanted. (see page 3 on the Gavel Watch for a detailed explanation)

Secondly, the two 1864 SC judges on Duceys' expanded State Supreme Court MUST GO!! These two voted to make the 1864 abortion ban the law in Arizona.
They are:
Clint Bolick
Kathryn King
DO NOT RETAIN. VOTE NO

The following MARICOPA Cnty judges should be retained:
Michael Gordon-YES
John Hannah-YES
Michael Kemp- YES
Scott McCoy- YES
Timothy Ryan- YES
Christopher Whitten- YES

DO NOT RETAIN the rest. VOTE NO.

signature verified and ballot counted on 10/21.

I honestly don't know why people go to the polls to vote if they have other options.

Ducey enlarged the court to give these positions to his friends. Our republican legislature intends to take over all future rejections and appointments, creating an all republican court.
