NEW INFORMATION: Pima County Sheriff's Department outlines allegations against employees on leave

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is outlining the allegations against Sgt. Aaron Cross and Heather Lappin (Republican Candidate for Sheriff), who works at the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and is running for sheriff.

Both are on paid administrative leave.

According to a release by the PCSD the Pima County Sheriff’s Department received multiple reports of deputies standing at the intersection of Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon, displaying a sign that read, “Deputies don’t want Nanos.”

That happened Saturday, October 12.

It was determined one of the people involved was Sgt. Aaron Cross. PCSD says Sergeant Cross was off duty, but was dressed in department issued attire, and was clearly recognizable as law enforcement.
