This came through on my Facebook feed this morning. This is one of the reasons why I keep a Facebook account.
Holy Tomato!! We rescued 16 pallets of tomato on the vine and will have some of these for you all at our 7 Borderlands' Produce On Wheels With-Out Waste locations this Saturday, December 3rd.
Can you believe all of this salsa, soup, salad and sauce was going to just go to the landfill? This is why curbing food waste is so important; good, nutritious produce should never be dumped in the landfill. Take part in our program and do your part to help curb food waste.
Come out on Saturday (8am-11am) and make a $15 donation and take home a produce box with up to 70lbs of rescued produce. This Saturday we will be in Phoenix, Chandler, Green Valley, Safford (Thatcher) and Benson. Locations are:
- Borderlands P.O.W.W.O.W. at Benson Hospital @ Tractor Supply 350 S. Ocotillo Ave., Benson 85602
- Borderlands P.O.W.W.O.W. at Safford Lions Club (at Home Depot)- 750 S. 20th Ave., Thatcher, AZ
- Borderlands P.O.W.W.O.W. at United Methodist Church of Green Valley - 300 W. Esperanza Blvd., Green Valley 85614
- Borderlands P.O.W.W.O.W. at Eastside Covenant Church 551 N. Camino Seco, Tucson 85710
- Borderlands P.O.W.W.O.W. at St. Mark Lutheran Church 3030 E. Thunderbird Rd., Phoenix 85032

(6,322 posts)church campus and help when POWWOW comes to FBCScottsdale once a month. I do agree that POWWOW is an incredible organization. They are one of the reasons I do not get discouraged when Arizona is mocked. We do have good people in this state.
