Even though I placed my ballot in one of Maricopa's drop boxes two weeks before the due day I vow to do better next year.
One of the reasons that it is taking Arizona so long to tabulate the votes is that many people brought their mail in ballot to one of the 223 boxes on election day. The signatures must be verified and they look at the date before counting the ballot.
At least that is what I have learned in the last two press conferences the county has held.

(5,052 posts)I understand the convenience of mail-in ballot. But if you are able and have the time, do in person early voting or on election day. No need to worry about all of the obstacles republicans do to try to throw out mail-in ballots. Easier for election workers because they don't have to check signature and other stuff to get the vote counted.

(6,321 posts)Arizona has been doing this since the 1990's. I do like going to city hall and dropping it in their ballot box rather than dropping it in a mail box.

(5,052 posts)They are definitely important for a lot of people and there are many valid reasons to use them. I wish republicans are more reasonable so we can work together to get them ready to count on election day, rather than the mess it is right now. But knowing republicans, that will never happen because they don't want mail-in to be counted because they think more democrats uses them.
With that said, if possible, early voting or in person on election day is good too.

(12,600 posts)I received notification it was received on Weds. morning and counted on Thursday. Ive followed AZ elections long enough to know the process. The only difference is now Qari Lake has convinced her followers that the people she told not to use early voting really did use it and all dropped their ballots off on Election Day, which is questionable.
