Supply chain issues dent Lucid Motor's projected production output
CASA GRANDE Supply chain constraints have dented Lucid Motors initial run of some 20,000 new electric cars to a revised figure of 12,000 to 14,000 vehicles.
In the companys fourth-quarter earnings report, Lucid Motors CEO Peter Rawlinson said that while supply chain issues exist that does not alter the companys commitment to its pioneering vehicle.
Looking ahead, were updating our outlook for 2022 production to a range of 12,000 to 14,000 vehicles, Rawlinson said. This reflects the extraordinary supply chain and logistics challenges weve encountered and our unrelenting focus on delivering the highest-quality products. We remain confident in our ability to capture the tremendous opportunities ahead given our technology leadership and strong demand for our cars.
Despite the production hiccup, the company also said its 2.85 million-square-foot expansion of the Casa Grand manufacturing plant is on track.
