(105,457 posts)and the Dick Van Dyke movie made in 1968. What is "the original" here? Colour movies started in the 1930s.

(16,499 posts)I saw it in 2021 for the first time and it was in color. But it vaguely had the appearance of the type of movie that was colorized:

I cant remember why (and I forgot to look it up after posting that), but I came away with the impression that it was colorized after. I think I am confusing it with a different movie.

(1,771 posts)I was never a fan of the Variety Show genre but Van Dyke & Company was the exception to that rule.
Dick Van Dyke assembled an incredible roster of comedic talent -- Bob Einstein, Andy Kaufman, Carl Reiner, Tommy Smothers, Mary Tyler Moore, Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, Steve Martin...

Unfortunately it was cancelled after just 11 episodes.

(2,069 posts). . . And one of the links, (which I did not click) led to some tribute that Piers Morgan has created. Ugh! Piers Morgan. Sorry for the negativity, Mr. Van Dyke, but Morgan is the anthesis of you and I had to express my feelings.
