(2,113 posts)The only not-really-redeeming "feature" is that this particular bit of tripe does not involve my recent least-favorite ad ":personality," the hyper-emoting thing being utilized in the 17 spots for the past year or so (she leaps up onto a little platform in one bit, insisting that some 'dancing' is in order). Truly awful skill set.

because DirecTV pretty much laughed at me for asking why we couldnt just pay a la carte instead of paying a huge sum for 1000 channels we never watched.
I have to say I really havent missed TV at all, especially the ads. Instead, I average about 300 (free) books a yearad free!

(22,119 posts)Jeopardy. All ads muted.
We hike, participate in civic activities (trash, food pantry, etc) read, etc.
News is primarily via DU, then to the linked source if interested.
if youtube feeds me an ad: muted
if we are somewhere (visiting, waiting rooms, etc) where tv is playing, the ads are extremely loud, really annoying, and frankly outright shit.
been like that for over 5 years.
i found that my wants have dropped to nothing.
