To anyone considering watching the new BritBox series, "Douglas Got Cancelled", don't bother.

Four thoroughly unpleasant episodes. By episode three, Mrs. Aristus and I were willing it to be over. We thought we were going to watch an interesting character study about how people behave in the spotlight. Instead we got a skeevy, sleazy four-hour shouting match among people we couldn't even pretend to care about.

About the only thing that made it anywhere near worthwhile was the astonishingly lovely Karen Gillan and her sexy Scottish accent. But it wasn't enough to save the whole mess.

2. It was terribly disappointing.

And - please forgive me - I thought Karen Gillan was the worst part. Her deliberate over pronunciation and that weird low voice were an affectation so distracting I could not like that character. The ending was so flat, and unsatisfying… I’m like “what? oh! That’s it?!” Excellent advice from OP - don’t bother with this one.
