Maddie wanted into the barn, but she just couldn't figure out how.

Pete and Maddie take care of each other.

They got their feet trimmed last week. Laurie led
Maddie in first. This was the horses' first time in
the barn.

Our excellent barefoot trimmer Seneca re-introduced
herself to Maddie.

And got started, while Pete looked on.

Maddie stood good.

Soon it was Pete's turn.

Shadow stood by, awaiting the next toenail clipping.

Shadow got her wish and her treat.
Seneca finished up with Pete.

And the horses got back to some good grazing.

Around The Farm ~
One recent morning revealed a pretty pre-sunrise sky.

We are blessed with Irises raised by former owners of this house.

After the first two lawn mowings, there remained a section to get.

So I got it.

I was, however, not successful at turning on the spigot to
fill horses' water buckets. Or, too much so, when the spigot
came off. Whoopsie.

Fortunately Laurie knew two things: how to shut off the water
and where her water pump pliers were. Then she started filling
the water tanks, until I spelled her.
She painted eyebrow dormers (two)

and gable ends (two) on her barn.

Inside, she dumped gravel into the horses' stall. Next she'll lay down mats.

She put up insulation in the future tack room.

and one shelving unit, to start, in the feed (grain storage) room.

We stretched some fencing, the same length continues to the left.

Out for a walk, KC took the short cut off the porch.

And one day Shadow went for a long ride in the car.
(Which she loves to do.)

My wife has plans.
I have purchase 2 raised planters. One will be for herbs. I have a giant sequoia to repot and I want a japanese maple. The rest is up to her.
