Friday's -- Horses and Around The Farm

Back at the old farm we had a broodmare called Misty. Barn name Mama.
She was Maddie's mother.

And Pete's.

Altogether Misty gave us nine babies. I don't know names, but here are
some others. She was a wonderful Mama.

Misty was a fine and fun old lady.

All beauties! She even gave you a black one. A friend in Montana raised Painteds, long before we met, still had a gorgeous black left of his herd. He educated me on the value of the black horse. I met other breeders in the valley and learned a few things about raising horses and though I still know little, I do have a better appreciation for these fine beings.

Great pictures! It's nice to see real horses first thing than just multiple versions of the same old horse's ass all over the front page!

At nine years old my wife came by her first horse. It was a Paint and a life-long love was born. "Fast forward" to 1993 when I married her, her two teenagers, and two Paints. Through Misty and another broodmare we raised Paint babies for years. Breeding and raising horses is quite a "field."

Subsequently, we switched over to boarding retired horses. We became good
friends with loving owners, who wanted more than anything to give back all
that their horses had given them.

Thank You for your kind reply!

Just what the doctor ordered for my foggy brain this morning. 🙂. SO much better than looking at news headlines.
