Rolling Stones scrap 2026 stadium tour after Keith Richards steps back

The Rolling Stones have reportedly halted plans for a major 2026 stadium tour.

The decision, sources close to the band confirmed to Variety, follows internal discussions in which guitarist Keith Richards declined to commit to the demands of a lengthy, multi-country tour.

The group had been exploring dates for next summer, with promoters and venues holding tentative space, though no official announcement had been made.

Richards, who turns 82 this week, has spoken openly in recent years about arthritis, which has forced him to adapt his playing style.

But A freaking rock and roll tour schedule at 82? Enjoy whatever you want to guys. Your music will be rocking forever. For my farewell tour (exit) you will hear The Stones, Michael McDonald and Jimmy Buffet.

so if that is what he might be experiencing, then not wanting to use your thumb that particular hour/day/week/month is quite understandable.

Some days there's not enough Aspercreme on the f*ing planet stop the throbs.

Drugs couldn't take this guy down, but tired ass thumb muscles might.

Better to do a one live show and broadcast it around the world. Remember Live Aid ... or one of those extravaganza worldwide concerts? Gosh there hasn't been one like that in over 30 years.

reason not to tour. I'm looking forward to the new music.

Musicians and road crews from other countries can't be happy about what Trump and his thugs are doing.

The proposed changes to the visa waiver application include making provision of social media history mandatory and adding “high value data elements,” including the person’s phone numbers and email addresses over the prior five years, plus close family members’ names and birth dates, along with their birthplaces, residences and phone numbers over the prior five years.

Some musicians might decide to avoid the US while touring. But the Stones' last tour was all in the US, except for one concert in Vancouver.
