We were fairly close to the stage, but I never made a run for the stage door when Townshend asked for someone in the audience to take Moon's place. I don't remember them playing "Won't Get Fooled Again" so early in the show, but that might be because the show was featuring the full "Quadrophenia," which had just been released. I do remember Pete saying Keith might need an "eneema."

Golden Earring toured with the Who in the early '70s and got along with Keith in particular. I ran across a story somewhere about George Kooymans taking the same drugs Keith was taking one night and having to be carried onto the plane the next day.

Keith was a great, great drummer. Like John Bonham, who also self-destructed much too young (both only 32).
