Burt Bacharach wrote the music. He thought lyrics were not necessary. Fortunately, his song writing partner, Hal David, disagreed and penned the lyrics. The producers brought in Dusty Springfield to perform it.

I do not know the identity of the singer in the cover version which is presented in the OP.

As much as I like the Dusty Springfield original, I am always happy to hear an instrumental version.
