Gordon Lightfoot - Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald

SS Edmund Fitzgerald was an American Great Lakes freighter that sank in Lake Superior during a storm on November 10, 1975, with the loss of the entire crew of 29 men.

Unlike many songs, this one doesn't make a larger-than-life mythology of the ship or crew. It tells the story giving the listener an idea of the fear and horror the crew must have gone through.

One thing I really like is how the hook has a sea chanty feel which fits perfectly with the theme.
Clever stuff.
