Like many young Americans, I roamed around Europe, and monitored the news from home as reported by the International Herald Tribune. I came back for the Watergate hearings, excited that he would actually be held accountable. Imagine my horror when Ford pardoned him, after failing to get a statement of contrition.

Half a century later, we see where that pardon got us.
