My friends and I just started buying albums when this album (Gaucho) debuted (at the ripe old age of 11). We were SHOCKED that the price was $8.00!! We were sure that it was "the end of the world as we knew it!" Highway Robbery!! We all loved Steely Dan, but this was ridiculous!

I only realized what most of the lyrics meant long after that when I hit my 40s! Great writers, great system of getting the best people to back them in the studio! Was utterly shocked by Becker's death. I really wish they could have made even more albums. Their lyrics and meaning - chef's kiss!
