I think that album cover is from the NYC Opera production in the mid or late '80s if my memory isn't deceiving me. I just missed being in that production.

I discovered Philip Glass when I saw the movie Satyagraha, way back.

While finishing my degree at Yale I took on several contracts with NYC Opera. I remember other singers talking about this production and that it had just finished up. So... I just missed it. I always wondered if I had been there a few months earlier if I would have had a part in it. I never did perform a Glass composition during my career. That's as close as I ever got, but I've always been a fan. I did meet him once after some show in London.

It's strangely moody and transcendant. I get kind of caught up in it.
