TCM Schedule for Friday, June 28, 2024: Foreign Adventures / Pride Month Part 2 (Brokeback Mountain & more)

TCM kicks-off its second Pride Month prime time salute with Caged (1950) and buries the breakout film Brokeback Mountain (2005) at midnight. While the Lesbian themes in Caged are implied (Bette Davis turned down a role, calling it "a dyke movie"-- see the autostraddle link below) it's no Brokeback Mountain -- the film everybody would really like to see at 8:00 pm.

Other movies of note today: the first film adaptation of the novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley, at 6:30 am, Purple Noon, To Have and Have Not at noon, in which Lauren Bacall steals the show in her film debut, and the Oscar-winning Casablanca at 6:15 pm. Happy viewing.
