Runtime: 124 mins Genre: Western Rating: TV-PG CC: Y

Trivia: After the stage wreck at around 9 minutes, Zack (Frank Sinatra) and Joe (Dean Martin) have a dialogue using a variation on the words of the song title "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'", which was a mega-hit for Sinatra's daughter, Nancy Sinatra. However, the film was released in 1963, and Lee Hazlewood didn't write the song (for himself, incidentally) until two years later in 1965. Nancy had to convince him to let her record it for release in December 1965.

Trivia: Anita Ekberg and Ursula Andress did nude screen tests, Hollywood's first. However, the Hays Board removed all nudity from the finished film.

However they later did not get along at all while filming The Longest Day (1962).

Dir: Jacques Becker Cast: Simone Signoret, Serge Reggiani, Claude Dauphin
Runtime: 96 mins Genre: Crime Rating: TV-PG CC: N

Since it was based on a Shirley Jackson story (The Lottery) I thought it would be good. It was better when I decided to watch the ending before watching the whole film.

"A decidedly mixed-to-negative review came from Shirley Jackson, the author of the source novel. After seeing the picture at a preview screening, she told her parents that "it is actually a very poor movie, the plot of the book changed radically, and far too much talk", although she admitted that the film contained some frightening scenes and had praise for the art direction and cinematography. After a second viewing a few weeks later, she told her friend Libbie Burke that she and her son Barry "nearly went to sleep", and that the scariest part of the day was that she had gotten a parking ticket while inside the theatre."
