Trivia: Ivan Le Lorraine Albright's famous painting of the decayed Dorian Gray, which took approximately one year to complete, is now owned by the Art Institute of Chicago, where it has been on display for many years. Albright's twin brother Malvin, better known as a sculptor, was also commissioned to create a painting of the young Dorian for this movie, although his work went unused. The March 27, 1944, issue of Life Magazine included a story and photos of the brothers working on their paintings for this movie. Henrique Medina created the initial portrait of young Dorian that sets the story in motion.

Trivia: The scene where the camel spits in Turkey's (Bob Hope's) face wasn't planned. The camel did it of its own accord while the cameras were rolling, and Hope's recoil and Bing Crosby's reaction were so funny that it was left in the final cut of the film.
Trivia: In an interview Dorothy Lamour commented that the "boys" ad-libbed their lines so much she often didn't know when to say her lines since they didn't give her her cue.
Trivia: Paramount shot two endings for the film. The one not used had Bob Hope and Bing Crosby enlisting in the Marines and ended with the line "See you on the road to Tokyo."
