I have all of the books and I'm now re-reading One for the Money. Just as funny the first time I read as it is now.

Can't wait for the movie. Love Jason O'Mara as Morelli. He's so darn cute.

The reviews say it stinks. I don't know how it would be to watch without knowing the books. Heigl isn't as bad as I feared. An Irish Morelli bothers me more than I thought it would, but it was still fun. Lula is Lula.

And answer me this: There's brunettes who can act. Why choose a blonde and make her dye her hair? (I asked the same thing about Lucy Lawless in Xena.) And if the actress has to dye her hair to match the book's description, why doesn't the male lead have to dye his hair black and wear brown contact lenses? Even then, he wouldn't be the lean, mean, ex-military and cop that Morelli is.

Anyway, I enjoyed it and will probably see it again. I'm not sure if another will be made, but I'd like to see Hot Six, Ten Big Ones, Eleven on Top, Twelve...whatever it is, and Fearless Fourteen on screen. What other Stephanie Plum books would you like to see as movies?

I hope to see it soon.

I think any of the first 10 or so books would make good theatre!

I'm not sure that any actor could possibly match how I envisioned Morelli or Ranger in my mind! lol

For some time now, I've bought the books when they were first released. So I was determined to see the movie on the first day, as early as possible. I think you may be right--what real man could match my own Morelli or Ranger? I thought it was the cleverest swag ever when a few years ago Evanovich sold Ranger and Morelli air fresheners--cartoon figures of each that smelled like cupcake or Bulgari Green shower gel. I bought quite a few and gave them to my fan friends--keeping a bunch for myself, of course.

I do admit to wishing that Stephanie could grow up beyond the 32 years she's been stuck at for 18 books, but no matter how bad of a day I'm having, Stephanie's having a worse one. Friends like that have their uses.

This was Katherine Heigl's project from the get-go. She was the one who made sure that it could be brought to the screen. I thought she was great as Stephanie. She has that perkiness that kind of worked for the part.
I LOVED Jason O'Mara. That man is beyond HOT. And well the 2 of them had great chemistry. He can do the Trenton accent pretty good. He really hasn't used his Irish accent for any of the roles he has had lately.
Daniel Sunjata is another HOT guy that fit the Ranger role well - not great, but well. I always pictured The Rock as Ranger. But Daniel was still OK in the role.
Debbie Reynolds was a hoot as Grandma Mazur. And I can't believe how much I liked Sherry Sheppard as Lula. Can't wait for later books to see Lula as a bounty hunter and sit on the guys she catches (some of the funniest scenes in the book are her apprehensions).

like Stephanie's horrible apartment furnished with nonmatching castoffs, Stephanie's bed head, inserts from later books (like Lula's working at Plum Bail Bonds), and Stephanie's clothes, kudos to her. I loved all that faithfulness to the books. One reviewer moaned about how horrible the clothes were--but they were totally Stephanie, who thought her lower-level manager's cheap suits were just the thing to wear on this bounty huntering job. (She learns. In Book 14, Lula and the TV crew can hardly get her into the official bounty hunter black leather jacket. And when Vinnie photoshops Lula's clothes and boobs on Stephanie's body for the bus painting and flyers because all Stephanie ever wears by then are T shirts!)

Debbie Reynolds was wonderful. I hope there's more movies; I'd love to see Debbie burn down the funeral home, move in with Stephanie, date all those...interesting characters, and frighten Ranger.

Did anybody get that Lula was wearing a Pretty Woman dress at the end, when she started working for Vinnie? It went over my head completely. Sherrie was wonderful as Lula. I do want to see her sit on felons and get chased by the dogs after her bacon.

My husband--I dragged 3 guys to see it with me--thought Ranger was the most convincing character, in that he oozed competence and had the don't-mess-with-me aura.
