I never read the book, but the movie looks interesting.

1. Just saw it today....

and I liked it a lot...

Well made, very well acted.. this movie remains loyal to the book... (except for one change at the end..)

And, IMHO, Rooney Mara did an outstanding job as Lisbeth Salander.

I hope you get a chance to read the entire trilogy, because Lisbeth's story doesn't come full circle until the 3rd book, "Hornet's Nest".

2. I saw it Tuesday night...loved it...very dark, beautifully filmed and acted...

...fairly faithful adaptation of the book...I will be going to see it again next week...

I am half way through the second book and loving that too...

3. Just saw it and I loved it.

I've read the books and have seen the three Swedish movies.
The Swedish movies seemed to be a summary of the books.
Accurate but lacking the emotional involvement.

This new version really had me emotionally tied up. It's pretty intense.
The music by Trent Reznor adds an interesting atmosphere too.

I felt a more complex personality in this Lisbeth than I did in the Swedish version.
The books go much deeper into her psyche, of course, but this movie did a pretty good job at capturing the essence.

Blomquist seems more involved too.
The faint Swedish accents everyone put on was a little odd but you get used to it.

There is one slight change in the ending to simplify the story.
Also a mystery set up at the very beginning is never explained.
Read the book or ask someone who has to get the details.

I liked the way the sex scenes weren't exploitive either.
I was more interested in the characters feelings than the voyeuristic quality that many sex scenes have.

I hope it does well so we get to see the next two books which go into a lot of detail about Lisbeth's background and how she came to be the strange, intense person we get to see.

4. I saw the Swedish films of the trilogy and they were so good I am not going to see the American one.

7. I Tend To Agree.

The Swedish films were outstanding, particularly "Dragon Tattoo." I may catch the U.S. version on cable, just for comparison purposes, but I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed.....

6. I have now seen both the Swedish version and the new one that is currently out...

..I have to say that I prefer the 'American' one over the Swedish one. I think the acting all around is far superior in the new one, the story is more closely followed, and the characters are far more developed.

I enjoyed them both, as I view them as two different interpretations of the same book, I just prefer the new one as it is darker and colder somehow, and Lisbeth is portrayed as much more damaged than in the Swedish version. In fact I am going to see it again tonight...

8. Really good movie

I saw it today for the second time. I finally started reading the book, which does go into more depth. I consider the film as being up there with the best of the Alfred Hitchcocks. But Salander is great and Rooney Mara deserves the best actress Oscar for her amazing portrayal.
This review sounds so cold-blooded, and I have to admit that I've been obsessed since I saw it 10 days ago.
