FRIDAY MAY 28

AAPI ARTISTS: Friday is the first day of We Are Home, an exhibition that features 19 artists of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. Proceeds from the show will go to AALEAD (Asian American Youth Leadership, Empowerment, and Development), Black Lives Matter DC, and Collective Action for Safe Spaces. Masks and timed-entry tickets are required. (HOMME; through June 6, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.)

STAND UP: In-person is back! Kick-off your weekend with DC Improv and the first night of their Stand Up Showcase. The show will last around 90 minutes with a lineup that includes voices from across the region. If you can’t make Friday’s slots, tickets are also on sale Saturday and Sunday. (DC Improv; 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; $28)

SATURDAY MAY 29

LET’S GO SHOPPING: On Saturday, head to Soufside Market for their pop-up “cash mob” to support local Black-owned businesses in the region. The event will feature Sandlot SE, Market 7, and ARCH Development. Bring your cash and get ready to purchase everything from food to clothing to body care products. (Soufside Market; 10 a.m.-3 p.m.)

FOOTBALL (THE OTHER KIND): This Saturday, English soccer teams Manchester City and Chelsea are facing off in the UEFA Champions League Finals — and Wundergarten is pulling out all the stops. In partnership with the British Embassy, the NoMa beer garden will be hosting a watch party complete with British beers, food trucks, and a raffle to benefit DC Scores. (Wunder Garten; 3 p.m.; freen entry)

VIRTUAL FESTIVAL: The inaugural Uprise DMV Festival is happening this Saturday — and you don’t even need to leave your couch to attend. Presented by NUNAR magazine and the Sunrise DC Movement, the four-hour live-streamed celebration will feature conversations and music that explore “a way forward in the spirit of collective liberation.” (4 p.m.-8:30 p.m.; $5.00+ )...
