I went back to a painting I did about a year ago and had no trouble finding plenty to spiff up.

(53,410 posts)I have no idea how it may have looked before but it has a sharpness in the details that sparkles. The way you show the highlights of the reflected light is really well done on the mouses head, ears, nose, fur and eyes. The whiskers too.
And the perfect colors on the candy and the luminescence of the candy wrappers are also really well done. Your sharp edges are in perfect contrast to the softened fur and is done very well. Youre also telling a story which makes it compelling. A mouse with a sweet tooth interrupted while indulging in Christmas candy.
I love this.
I keep trying different styles. This is a lot tighter than the one I last posted. Its kind of odd, but I cant seem to settle on a consistent, recognizable style.
Do you think that is odd? Is it okay to continue this way? Do you have any pieces that are quite different style than others? 😊

(53,410 posts)and even on what medium I use. At one point in my life I dove into abstract expressionism for a couple of years. It was the hardest work as well as the one that forced me to grow as an artist. It became a passion and compelling me to explore. It taught me so much about what art means and why artists picked that style of painting.
And when I draw I try to make it as realistic as I can, which is the complete opposite of abstract painting. I also try to keep my paintings of objects or clouds as loose as possible, in the Impressionistic mode.
Just do what you want and let others worry about trying to figure it out.
