(426 posts)Hubby and I camped nearby and hiked the trail leading to Devils Tombstone. Its a brutal trek in July....lots of biting flies and oh my gosh it was hot. We each brought a gallon of water but it wasnt enough in my opinion. Beautiful area...would love to go back in autumn.
Your painting is very nice.

(53,410 posts)You did an excellent job capturing the intensity of the colors and shapes of landscape that is so uniquely American. Its compelling and well executed. I really like your loose brushwork and the way you keep it consistent throughout the entire canvas. The shaded foreground gives the landscape the perspective of great depth, distance and immensity while balancing the colors. I also love your rendition of the sky in the same multi hued brushwork.
It is a painting that is saturated in brilliant colors and its very satisfying to eyes that hunger for color. Thank you!
