He has a wonderful book (on Amazon -- always around 4.5*) and his homework assignments for the classes he teaches at Gage in Seattle are at: hoffmannwatercolors@blogspot.com

one of the tricks from 'drawing on the right side of the brain' is- when drawing from a photo, turn it upside down.
it works.
