Related: About this forumI think my painting has come a long way
I started painting this spring and am teaching myself. I started a blog where I post them with commentary. When I look at my earlier work (ha!), I'm almost embarrassed. I may even paint over those canvases. It's been a humbling experience. Here's a link to my blog. Comments, suggestions, tips are more than welcome. What do you guys think?

You must be a natural. Hard to believe its only been months when it looks more like years. Your shadow work looks pretty advanced.

(953 posts)I am also an artist, but I have not painted in years. Life somehow got in the way. You have inspired me! I really want to get out my palette, paints, and canvas and start painting.
I like your use of color, too. I am really glad that you are enjoying it. I always found it relaxing to get "lost" in the world of my creation on canvas.
Thanks so much for sharing this with us. You have truly inspired me!

(24,013 posts)I'd love to see what you come up with. You're so right about getting "lost" in the work. I'll start painting early afternoon, and before I know it, it's dinner time!

(2,853 posts)she is the artistic half of us,while I played sports and dealt with my given talents. I watch her sit down and in 10 minutes do something amazing. I look at you paintings and have the same amazement, as my brain wont let the picture in my head, move to my hands. You are gifted!
