Extreme close-ups

Flower (out-of-focus) - charcoal (my first)

Jigsaw puzzle pieces (pencil/ink/ebony) - practicing cross-hatching for shadows

The point of this assignment was to create photos that are close enough that they are mostly not recognizable, but which still have shape and a range of value, and to practice using different media. These are both on 14" x 17" paper - so the puzzle pieces are magnified by about 15 times.

He finally gave me a 9.9/10. The others have all been 9.8/10. We're allowed to resubmit as many times as we want to improve our grades - but I'm not that desperate for a tenth if a point. . . . I have classmates who are apparently surviving on attendance points.
