The Little Thief

Here's a full sculpture I made around a decade or so ago. She's fully sculpted from Aves Apoxie Sculpt (http://avesstudio.com) over wire and foam armature, painted with acrylics, with wool hair. A Metro bus driver in Kent I think bought her.

She's a Sprite that 'collects' beautiful pieces of jewelry.

I've been creating fantasy things since I was a wee girl. I had vision problems and could only see very close up. I've become a visual artist despite my eye problems, or maybe because of them. There's an entire community of sculptors you may be interested in. The Shifflett Brothers forum on FB is a great place to see lots of different and amazing pieces.

Thanks again!

Before the advent of 3-D printing, I would sculpt macquettes – miniature representations of animatronic figures the company I work for creates – from Super Sculpy. Apoxie Sculpt is WAY more durable and doesn't have to be baked.

Nice work!

I love Aves! Polymer clay releases phthalates into the skin, so I stopped using it over 20 years ago.

That must be a great job!

My friend Bob Eggleton is known for his Godzilla paintings. I'd so love to see your work!
