This reminds me of a bird book I had as a child, the illustrations were done by Roger Tory Peterson. This gorgeous little bird looks like it came from that book, really, it’s very good. Your attention to detail is just astounding.

Certainly not in the same league with Peterson (I have that book, too), but I find birds fascinating in a lot of ways, and challenging to paint.

... a beautiful piece! As soon as I figure how to post pix, I'll show a few of my own pieces. I'm an art director these days, so there's not a lot of time to paint just for the hell of it, but when I do, my preferred medium is watercolor, though I've worked in every medium except egg tempera; I'll leave that one to the Wyeth clan.
