Got a couple of breast biopsies done this week, waiting for the results. Felt like just doing little paintings.
Thank you anyone who looks! 😍👩🏼🎨

(24,067 posts)Hope the procedure went well and that you had the meds/support you needed.
I LOVE this series. The one on the lower right reminds me of a tributary of Lolo Creek. Just beautiful.

(10,209 posts)Everything went well, it really wasnt any big deal at all, and the staff were so incredibly nice to me that I dropped off a thank you card and treats this morning for them all! It wasnt a big office so a couple dozen cupcakes were enough I think.
Your comment about Lolo made me smile because I have a cousin who lives in Lolo.
Im always painting Montana, when I paint a landscape from the top of my head.
I guess you can tell where home really is, by the landscape you draw when you dont have a reference photo to follow.
❤️❤️❤️
P.S. I hope all is well with you and yours this summer!

My life was saved by a breast biopsy--I've got you in my heart. I hope the results are negative, but if not--you're going after that bastard!!

(25,571 posts)Among my most treasured possessions are 3 miniature paintings done by one of the artists who sell their works at Montmartre in Paris. Ive had them since about 1989.
They are quite tiny, about 1 1/2 x 2, and were creatively framed by a friend of mine, who is a nurse but did matting and framing on the side. She was very talented. She did a few other pieces for me. I never gave her any guidance or preferences, because I knew she would find the perfect matches.

(1,230 posts)I love the light youve captured, and the mountains and the trees.
They beckon me to linger where its quiet and calm.
Deep breath and I can smell that fresh forest air, thanks be to the trees.
Painting is a beautiful way to be engaged while you await your results. Many thanks for sharing your paintings and your procedures. Well help you carry that load, okay?
A blessing, if I may

(10,209 posts)You have truly touched my heart and given me strength to face whatever lies ahead of me now.
It probably sounds strange, but starting during the biopsy procedures, I started feeling the presence of my mom and other loved ones in heaven. Its such a strong feeling. I almost think if I turned around quickly enough I would see them. That feeling brings me a lot of peace.
Thank you for the blessing, your kind words about my paintings, for being here for me, for everything.
You are a big part of the reason DU feels like a family. ❤️❤️❤️
If there is anything I can do for you ever, please DM me, Ill give you my email address, I would be thrilled to send you a couple of my paintings for free, etc.

(10,209 posts)Im not wasting supplies if a painting doesnt turn out. Plus, its less intimidating to do small works.
I know I need to do larger works to have anything to offer people might want, but I think Im not quite there yet, and if I work another year or two with small paintings, I might just get to the point where I feel confident entering my works in shows or approaching a local gallery.
Smaller works are more fun and less stressful.
It is a challenge to get small marks with those big pastels, but I also use the harder nupastel sticks which are great at making relatively fine lines.

(10,209 posts)Left breast has two masses that are cancer, right breast not cancer but atypical ductal hyperplasia that needs to be removed and evaluated.
So surgery needed on both sides but only one side is cancer.
Thanks everyone so much for being so caring and giving me such great support.
