Romi Park, the voice of Edward Elric and Cpt. Hitsugaya, stars in her first live action film
The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) screened the premiere of Ryohei Yoshino's Akaboshi (Morning Star) film, which stars voice actress Romi Park (Fullmetal Alchemist's Edward Elric, Bleach's Tōshirō Hitsugaya, NANA's NANA Osaki) in her first live-action role in a film.
Park stars in the film as a mother whose husband's disappearance starts to unbalance her mind, and she becomes completely absorbed in a cult religion. The film, which "explores the beauty and horror of family ties," revolves around the relationship between Park's character and her young son (played by Aren), who continues to stay by her side.
TIFF's description of the film notes that Park fell in love with the script after reading it despite it being a low-budget independent film. Park attended an additional screening of the film at the festival on Thursday.
Last month, Park took about three weeks off of work to recuperate from a surgery on an unspecified number of polyps on her vocal cords. She returned to work on October 3.
