Bring Raise the Wage News to the Airwaves! (what did marym625 do now?)

A few weeks ago marym625 had a post echoed (http://www.labourstart.org/2013/country.php?country=USA&langcode=en) on a major labor site, the DU has been gaining new readers. This post is by request from Workers independent News: http://laborradio.org/

What We're Doing:
Workers' Independent News has been broadcasting labor-focused news for more than 12 years. Every weekday, we produce a three-minute headline newscast that airs on roughly 150 radio stations across the country reaching approximately 1 million people.

We've seen the increase in inequality in the U.S., and we feel that people need news that speaks to their concerns. That's why we're expanding our coverage of low-wage work issues and preparing to launch a Spanish-language newscast in addition to our English one.

By contributing to this campaign, you can help us produce two newscasts dedicated to the issues facing low-wage workers, Raise the Wage News. Approximately 80 million people over age 20 earn minimum wage in the U.S. according to research from the Economic Policy Institute. Half of these workers are women, and nearly 40 percent of those earning minimum wage are at least 40 years old.

Raise the Wage News will keep people abreast of developments on workplace safety regulations, living wage campaigns, and a host of other issues. Your support will allow us to expand our current coverage and provide an alternative source of news that reflects working people's priorities.
