L.A. Charter School Union Organizers Describe Anti-Union Campaign

Alliance College-Ready Public Charter Schools has until the last week in May to officially respond to charges of engaging in union busting tactics. As Monica Lopez reports, unfair labor practice charges were filed by United Teachers of Los Angeles on behalf of teachers who are trying to unionize the LA-area charter schools.

The charges allege unlawful denial of access to campuses and email accounts, coercion by conducting an anti-union campaign, and interference by engaging in coercive and threatening conduct toward employees who support unionization.
Teacher Elana Goldbaum says shortly after top Alliance administrators said they would respect their employees right to choose a union, The Alliance responded in the following ways.
[Elana Goldbaum ]: When organizers tried to access the campus they were denied access, emails were a week later blocked completely from alliance educators united, I was even scolded for handing out leaflets during break time.
