Schodack

IBT Hamilton Printing of Castleton-on-Hudson on Friday closed down production of its book binding facility and laid off all of its remaining employees in the wake of financial problems.

For months, the company has been unable to pay health insurance premiums for union employees. In addition, 401(k) payments and union dues have not been paid. Paychecks have frequently been issued late.

That has resulted in a formal complaint being filed by the United Steelworkers against the company with the Albany office of the National Labor Relations Board. United Steelworkers represents hourly workers at the company.
